Recently I have come to deeper realizations about fundamental lessons I have learned in meditation. This one is about fear and how we relate to it. Enjoy!
I believe we organize our reality with our thoughts and actions. If we our constantly thinking and acting based on fear we will undoubtedly create a life that reflects that. The same is true if we think and act out of love. Because we are always radiating a signal (vibration, energy, frequency, etc.) we must be attentive to what we send out. To do this we must develop awareness and control. This is where mindfulness comes into play as it helps us to stay present and in control of our thoughts. I think of developing mindfulness kind of like developing muscular strength and coordination to move our physical bodies. Babies go through the process of strengthening and coordinating their muscles to stand, walk, and move freely. By the time that baby is an adult it no longer has to give any thought or effort to stay balanced, it is automatic. This is one of the purposes of meditation as it helps us to strengthen our minds and coordinate the signals we are sending out at every moment. We should not just allow our thoughts to oscillate between love and fear haphazardly and expect to have a fulfilling life. We must learn to pay attention to what we are thinking at each moment and decide if those thoughts are worth thinking to create the reality we desire. I believe that most of us do not learn to control our minds and therefore create our own suffering. Much in the same way that a child does not know how to drive a car and crashes it, harming him/herself and possibly others. We must take responsibility for our thoughts as they can cause us and others harm when uncontrolled and we can do that with mindfulness meditation. Instead of making life hard and painful we can make it easy and pleasurable… if we choose to. We are 100% responsible for the lives we live and the world we live in because we are 100% responsible for the thoughts we think and the actions we take.
That’s all, thanks for reading!
